JULY Newsletter

Have you noticed a slightly different vibe about South Africa of late? Elections are over and we have a new Government of National Unity, the Boks have been mostly triumphant in the last few weeks and our athletes are getting ready to take on the Olympics in Paris. We would say that South Africa is feeling a little more positive and upbeat than it was a couple of months ago. We like that.

We have never been the type to dwell on the negative and our message has always been resolutely positive about our country and what we do. Yes, we exist because of a systemic problem that is not getting better, but we are focused on the solution by improving and protecting lives in our beautiful nation.

It’s this very reason we have introduced Armormax Care. We have been working on this program all year and are ready to launch. As some of you have experienced first-hand, we often dispense advice on your safety outside of your armoured car as well. This comes from being in touch with professionals in the field and keeping our finger on the pulse of what’s happening out there. Now along with your armouring package, we include a bespoke and holistic care program to assess every detail of your personal and professional life and make recommendations on how you can live the safest, most unrestricted life possible.

This program is taken care of by seasoned professionals in threat assessment and risk management, driver training, cyber security and self-defence. Read more by visiting https://armormax.co.za/armormax-care/  or viewing this video

Ford SA approached us in the beginning of the year to take part in the QVM program, at the request of their Government and Fleet Sales department. It was rather serendipitous in fact as we had already armoured several units of the new Ranger and Everest models for some of our existing clients. We found that since the launch of these two models, many of our existing clients that had owned vehicles from premium manufacturers were now purchasing these vehicles for business and private use.

In March this year, we were awarded the QVM status by Ford SA shortly after delivering the 3rd Everest model armoured to B4 specification. We are very pleased to be part of the QVM program and be able to offer customers our solution with the added peace of mind of a warranty and service plan that is unaffected. You can order your Armormax package through any one of the dealers or come to us directly. Together with Ford SA, we have a sound strategy to work together to introduce ourselves to Ford customers and dealers and provide them with a refreshing level of quality and service from the top drawer.

The launch of the TAC-6 in April this year was a monumental success. Our goal was to reach a global audience through an aggressive online and media campaign which has paid massive dividends. We are currently engaged with several customers and partners around the globe to deploy this ground-breaking vehicle in areas it was designed to operate in. Our vision of this being the most versatile, reliable and adaptable light tactical vehicle has been met with huge demand and positive praise.

Our double cab automatic demo vehicle has been front and centre at several activations over the last few months including the Knysna Simola Hillclimb that included a 4000 km road trip, the NAMPO festival in Bothaville, several key military Golf Days and more. It turns heads wherever it goes, and, in every demonstration, we blow the minds of those who test it. There are only more good things to come…

We have been without a demo vehicle for some time after we sold our incredible BMW X7 M50d. It wasn’t a planned sale, but a very good client convinced us to relinquish it a few months ago. Since then, we decided to build another Land Rover Defender, but this time in B6 guise. It’s a unique B6 build in that the swing arm tailgate and short rear overhang means we don’t build a ballistic bulkhead behind the 2nd row of seats. This results in no restriction on space or use of the 3rd row of seats. Interestingly, since we started building Defenders in early 2023, we have built 24 more examples and remain the only JLR South Africa approved vehicle armourer.

Our next B4 demo vehicle has just been confirmed. We have chosen to develop an armouring package for the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The new model has taken the South African market by storm selling out units for months to come. We have no doubt that it will become a popular model amongst armoured car owners too. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more updates.

Stay safe!
